![]() ![]() Steam LocomotivesBrief History The Atmospheric Railway The Broad Gauge Apart from just one year of Atmospheric Railway operation, Dawlish was a place to see many types of steam locomotive, especially for engines built by the Great Western Railway. Although the sight and sound of steam locomotives lasted right up to the official end of steam, many chartered trains pass through Dawlish with “preserved” locomotives.
